DE. Ohio State. 2. player. Pick Analysis. Chase Young. 58. Scouting Report

The Washington Redskins and new head coach Ron Rivera really don’t have a whole heck of a lot to think about here.

Depending on who you ask, Young is probably the best player in the 2020 NFL Draft overall. He’s certainly the best defender, even over his talented teammate, the star cornerback Jeffrey Okudah.

Young is a force off the edge, a relentless defender with so much upside even after all we’ve seen from him in three seasons at Ohio State.

Young is, physically, the most imposing edge prospect coming out of college since Jadeveon Clowney in 2014. He’s a much more well-rounded player than Clowney coming out as well, which is scary.

If it weren’t for the value of the quarterback position, Young would easily be a number one overall pick.

Adding him to the Washington defense along with last year’s first-round pick Montez Sweat in Ron Rivera’s defense will be fun to watch. That’s a lot of athleticism and speed off the edge.
