2020 NFL Draft: Huge trades shake up two-round mock draft
The Falcons could go a lot of directions with this selection.
Ultimately, the decision to possibly move on from Devonta Freeman leads to the possibility of D’Andre Swift becoming more of a reality.
The Falcons ranked 30th in rush offense this past season, and while the running back position seems like somewhat of a luxury in the first round, it may be more of a necessity for this team.
Swift is a physical back who can take runs the distance whether he’s running to the outside or breaking tackles at the second level. One way or another, he’s nearly impossible to bring down on initial contact and he has excellent lateral agility and explosiveness.
Swift invites contact and takes pride in his abilities as a physical runner, but he’s elusive when need be and is a good receiver out of the backfield as well.
