3. Interior Defensive Line

This is more of a sleeper need for the Cardinals, but at this time last year, when we were all guessing if Kyler Murray would be the first overall pick, I was someone advocating for Quinnen Williams. Arizona has Chandler Jones making plays on the edge, but that interior pass rush is important as well.

Picking at No. 8 overall, the Cardinals are in range for a top-three player on my board in this year’s draft. Derrick Brown is a wrecking ball who line up all over the defensive line. There aren’t many things he does poorly, and he would certainly be an instant starter for the Cardinals.

If Brown goes off the board before the Arizona Cardinals pick, there’s another great option on the board. South Carolina interior defensive lineman, Javon Kinlaw, has been shooting up draft boards ever since he dominated the Senior Bowl and it’s for good reason. Kinlaw offers rare explosiveness off the line of scrimmage and gives pass rush upside rarely seen in interior lineman.

If they end up passing on an interior defensive lineman in round one, there are plenty of good options that could be the pick in rounds two and three. A few names Cardinals fans should keep their eyes on are Justin Madubuike, Ross Blacklock, Raekwon Davis and Larrell Murchison. These guys range from run stuffers to pass rushers and some are a mix of both, but they are all talented football players that will positively impact the Cardinals defensive line.
