2020 NFL Draft: Top 3 positional needs for the Arizona Cardinals
2. Wide Receiver
The Arizona Cardinals were put in a tough situation at receiver. Larry Fitzgerald is a legend and is as reliable as ever, and Christian Kirk is a solid second option. The tough part is that the Cardinals selected three receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft and only one of them has shown much promise. Luckily enough, this is a good year to need help at wide receiver.
After Larry Fitzgerald, the Cards don’t have a legitimate number one option at receiver. The top of this receiving class gets heralded as the best in years, as it should, but the depth at the class is just as impressive.
I expect the Cardinals to address the position in the earlier rounds and if they do so, they should have some great options to choose from.
In the first round, the Cardinals should be able to have their choice of receiver. There might be one off the board, but there would still be one of Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, or Henry Ruggs available. If I were making the choice, it would be Lamb. Reuniting Kyler Murray with his top option from Oklahoma could prove to be a smart move for the organization.
Other options in the second and third round could be the local playmaker, Brandon Aiyuk; the speedster from TCU, Jalen Reagor; or the sure-handed senior from Baylor, Denzel Mims.
There are plenty of options at receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, and whatever direction they go, they’ll be getting a playmaker.
