Placekicker: Mason Crosby (Green Bay Packers) Age 35

The most underrated need for the New York Jets is a competent  place kicker. How many games are won or lost on a field goal attempt? It seems like every week there were multiple games decided by the leg of a kicker.

The Jets kicking woes lasted the entire season making Jets fans grimace every time Sam Ficken came running onto the field. Mason Crosby has been a Packer in which seems to be forever, but he’s an unrestricted free agent now and is available for the Jets’ taking. Crosby held a 91.7 field goal percentage with 22 makes in 2019.

Placekicker: Dan Bailey (Minnesota Vikings) Age 32

Another option for Gang Green is a guy that was actually in their building not too long ago. When Bailey was cut by Dallas in 2018 his first workout was with the Jets, but NY opted not to sign him. They signed Jason Myers instead and he went on to have a big year, however, the Jets elected not to re-sign him which led to terrible kicking all season for the Jets in 2019.

Dan Bailey had a field goal percentage of 93.1% making 27 of 29 with a long from 50 yards. Douglas needs to get an actual kicker on this roster that won’t give Jets fans heart palpitations. It may be hard to pry these two placekickers away from their teams, but New York should try their best to get them in Gotham green.
