Pass Rusher: Matt Judon (Baltimore Ravens) Age 27

(Market Value: $16.3M)

This is where the questions come in. The New York Jets have an abundance of cap space for them to spend, but after potentially signing two top offensive lineman will there be enough for a big time pass rusher? Matt Judon is coming off a big year where he had 9.5 sacks, but is he worth the risk with a hefty price tag?

The Jets have lacked a big time pass rusher since Shaun Ellis and Calvin Pace teamed up on the same side of the field. They haven’t had an elite rusher since John Abraham was traded to Atlanta after the 2005 season.

Judon never had a season with double-digit sacks, but his closest was this past season. Even with questions whether he can ever be an elite pass rusher his potential with Gregg Williams is scary. I can definitely picture Judon wreaking havoc in Gotham Green.

Pass Rusher: Vic Beasley (Atlanta Falcons) Age 27

(Market Value: $7.3)

A more realistic pass rushing target for the New York Jets is Vic Beasley. He hasn’t been what Atlanta thought they were getting when they took him 8th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, but he hasn’t been terrible.

After consecutive seasons with just five sacks in 2017 and 2018 Beasley notched eight sacks in 2019. If the Jets are able to bring back Jordan Jenkins and pair him with Beasley on the opposite side Gang Green could have a nice pass rush. If Joe Douglas is looking to spend wisely value signings like Beasley is exactly what he should be looking for.
