Jason Witten came out of retirement last year to help the Cowboys out at the tight end position, but this offense needs more than what Witten is capable of providing.

Although Witten is a seasoned veteran who is still crafty and finds ways to get open, the Cowboys could certainly find an upgrade and Harrison Bryant would be a tremendous value in round five.

At this point, it kind of feels hard to believe that Bryant could last this far down the draft board, but the Cowboys certainly wouldn’t be complaining.

He won the Mackey Award this past year as the nation’s top tight end, catching 65 passes for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns. Prior to that, he had 77 receptions in his last 22 games with nine touchdowns.

He’s been under the radar as a big-time playmaker at the tight end position for three seasons now, and if he’s on the board in round five, the Cowboys would probably be jumping for joy.
