Quarterback: Sam Darnold

Wide Receivers: Quincy Enunwa, Jamison Crowder

Cap Room: $56,337,397

After a disappointing season due to a combination of injuries on both sides of the ball as well as sub-par coaching, Adam Gase and the Jets looks to bounce back in 2020 with a strong NFL free agency period and the return of injured cornerstones (specifically C.J. Mosley).

Their leading receiver in 2019, Robbie Anderson, looks to be out the door this offseason in pursuit of more money elsewhere as well as a winning situation. However, Anderson may be misjudging New York’s capacity to win in 2020.

Much of New York’s offensive production was centered around running back Le’Veon Bell in 2019, due to a combination of quarterback play in the absence of Sam Darnold and lack of ulterior contributors around the offense. The presence of a healthy A.J. Green would instantly change the dynamic of the Jets vertical offense and force defenses to keep assets downfield in fear of Green getting behind his man.

This added vertical presence (which is more imposing than former deep threat Anderson) will open more field for Bell and create a two-dimension offense between the two stars.

New York needs to not only replace Robbie Anderson but put in place a superior wideout who can change the face of this offense. Sam Darnold impressed after his fight with mono, and outside of a paranormal experience against the Patriots, has been seen as one of the promising quarterbacks of the league who hasn’t yet had his coming out parties like Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson.
