Scouting Report. Henry Ruggs III. 15. 45. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver . Alabama. player

It’s been said that the Denver Broncos will be in pursuit of a speedy wide receiver this offseason. No one fits that bill better than Henry Ruggs III. Ruggs is a true burner who could set some 40-yard dash records at the 2020 NFL Draft Scouting Combine.

I can’t overstate how fast and athletic Ruggs is. He can fly past defenders and can jump out of the stadium to go up and make a catch. If his basketball tape is any indication, we are in for a real treat at the combine.

But Ruggs is more than just fast. He is not a gimmick. He has the ability to run smooth routes and really has a nose for settling in open spaces in zone coverage. He too has the capability to turn any pass into a touchdown and has great hands.

Young Denver quarterback Drew Lock has a rocket for an arm and Ruggs would be the perfect target to throw down the field to. Ruggs would be a great complement to reliable receiver Courtland Sutton and would be another offensive weapon for Lock and new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.

Pick Analysis. Defensive End. A.J. Epenesa. 16. player. 44. Scouting Report. Iowa

A.J. Epenesa is the next best 4-3 defensive end behind Chase Young, in my mind. He is a very physical presence who can actually impose his will on offensive linemen. He has been productive each and every year at Iowa and is great at finishing plays. In his last two seasons as a Hawkeye, he totaled 22 sacks, 30.5 tackles for loss and eight forced fumbles.

While he doesn’t have the great bend and athleticism that some elite pass rushers have, he is a very powerful and effective player. He could probably bounce inside if needed as a 3-4 defensive end, but if he continues to develop his speed/finesse moves, he has great potential as an edge rusher.

The Falcons defense has struggled greatly the last couple of seasons and have been searching for a solid and steady edge rusher for a while now. While they found surges of high-level play here and there, they haven’t been able to get consistent play from the position. With Vic Beasley and Adrian Clayborn set to hit free agency and 2017 draft pick Tak McKinley totaling just 16.5 sacks in his first three seasons, they could really use the production from a guy like Epenesa.
