Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 46. CeeDee Lamb. 13

This pick was a toss-up for me. The real question is whether Chris Ballard and Frank Reich would rather find a replacement for quarterback Jacoby Brissett or provide him with another dynamic weapon in the passing game.

It would not surprise me one bit if the Colts opted for Jordan Love here. I’m a big fan of Love and his potential as an NFL quarterback. He would be a great option if they decide to move on from Brissett and want to address the position in this 2020 NFL Draft.

But in this scenario, the Colts can’t pass up on wide receiver 1b, CeeDee Lamb. While I do just slightly prefer Jeudy, Lamb has everything that it takes to be an NFL superstar. Jeudy may be the better option as a true number one receiver, but Lamb and T.Y. Hilton could be one of the most dangerous duos in the league.

Lamb is a real deep threat with a knack for tracking and catching the ball no matter where it’s at. Like Jeudy, Lamb is incredibly difficult to bring down in the open field, making him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He isn’t quite the route runner that Jeudy is, but he knows how to get open and make a play.

If the Colts decide to give Brissett another year or address the quarterback position in free agency, CeeDee Lamb would be a home run with this pick. They may regret not taking Love down the road, but it all depends on what the front office is thinking. If they want to win now, Love may not be the best option. Rather they add another playmaker to the offense and try to strike while the iron is hot.

EDGE. LSU. Scouting Report. K'Lavon Chaisson. 14. player. 48. Pick Analysis

This is another spot where Jordan Love could come off the board. I highly doubt the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opt to bring back Jameis Winston and a player like Jordan Love could draw the intrigue of head coach Bruce Arians.

The primary rumor that has been floating around is that the Bucs will plan to bring in Philip Rivers to bridge the gap before turning things over to 2020 NFL Draft prospect Jacob Eason. I don’t think Tampa would go with Eason this early in the draft unless maybe Love was already off the board and they feared that someone else would grab him.

Quarterbacks often find themselves flying off the board in the NFL Draft, so it’s certainly not out of the question if they really like him, but here they address a different need.

Last offseason the Bucs took a chance on free agent Shaq Barrett, signing him to a one-year, “prove it” sort of deal. Boy did he prove it, and will now be looking for a huge payday this offseason. Combined with another veteran edge rusher, Jason Pierre-Paul, hitting the market, the Bucs may find themselves with at least one hole at the position.

There is no one in this draft better to fill that 3-4 outside linebacker position than LSU’s K’Lavon Chaisson. He is an incredibly explosive player off the edge with the versatility to drop back in coverage if need be. He has a great first step with moves and counter moves to work towards the quarterback.

Chaisson is effective in the run game as well with great length and strong hands to latch onto ball carriers. With 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 2019, Chaisson really came on at the right time to launch himself into the top half of the first round of the NFL Draft. Pairing him with either Barrett or Pierre-Paul and his former LSU teammate Devin White on the inside, the Bucs would have a ton of speed and talent on their developing defensive unit.
