Austin Jackson. player. 31. USC. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. 2. Scouting Report

In the second round, the New York Giants address the tackle position, an area that Gettleman usually favors to target early on in the draft. Other than Solder, the other tackles that will be on the roster for 2020 at the moment are Chad Slade and George Asafo-Adjei. That won’t be anywhere near enough going forward.

This 2020 tackle class looks great at the top, but there are plenty of intriguing prospects to target early on day two. One of those tackles is USC standout Austin Jackson.

Most people will remember Jackson’s game against Iowa as a point of concern with his game, but it’s important to remember that A.J. Epenesa is an extremely talented edge rusher. There are issues with his game that show up, though. Jackson does have to get a bit stronger and improve his initial strike and grip.

Despite the concerns, there are positive traits the Giants can work with in Jackson. For one, he is a very good athlete and an impressive mover for his size. He should thrive getting into space. Jackson also possesses very good footwork and looks comfortable in pass sets. There may be some growing pains, but the potential is there with Jackson in the long run.
