Linebacker

This season the Jaguars had 7 linebackers play at least 200 snaps and 3 of them ended up on injured reserve, according to pro football focus. Out of that group the only player to grade within the top 75 linebackers was Leon Jacobs.

After signing a $57 million extension in August Myles Jack had an underwhelming season, which ended on injured reserve due to a knee injury. He’s too talented and getting paid too much to not start next year just because of a bad season, but the poor season and the fact that were concerns about the durability of his knee dating back to when he was drafted back in 2016 should be concerning.

Another reason the Jaguars have a need at linebacker is because 2017 pro bowler Telvin Smith decided to retire last year. I suppose he could possibly come back, but they shouldn’t rely on that and instead should look to free agency or the draft to add one.
