Scouting Report. EDGE. Miami (FL). Jonathan Garvin. 5. player. 834. Pick Analysis

If the Chicago Bears rescind Leonard Floyd‘s $13.2 million fifth-year option, edge rusher will quickly become a major need for this team. They would likely replace Floyd with a veteran option or two in free agency, but they could certainly use some youth at the position as well.

Jonathan Garvin is a long, strong and athletic edge rusher who has plenty of upside as a late-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Garvin is not the most explosive rusher out of the blocks, but he consistently gets strong upfield burst and does show a bit of bend around the edge.

Garvin is also a disciplined run defender who sets the edge well and closes on the ball carrier quickly. Even if they bring Floyd back, edge rusher stands out as a position of need for the Bears and I like Garvin as a fit for this team. A nice upside grab for the Bears in this 2020 NFL mock draft.

CB. Levonta Taylor. player. 804. Pick Analysis. Florida State. 6. Scouting Report

Levonta Taylor is a former highly-ranked recruit who has clear upside at the cornerback position. Taylor lacks ideal size on the outside, but he is a smart and disciplined player who does not give up big plays.

He is strong in off-man coverage and even better in zone. Taylor does a great job of reading the quarterback and shows impressive natural ball skills. His lack of size is a concern and he is not an elite athlete at the cornerback position. That being said, Taylor is a rock-solid cornerback prospect who could come in and make an immediate impact for the Chicago Bears.
