Post-Super Bowl three-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Eight QBs Taken
The Eagles’ needs are fairly simple to dissect. Talent on the outside on both sides of the ball in barren for Philadelphia. If Kristian Fulton falls to 21 overall, the Eagles will gladly take the LSU cornerback. He is a safe prospect with a high ceiling in my opinion. They need a sure thing at cornerback and Fulton can bring that presence to this defense.
This is a match made in heaven. The Bills’ receiving core is lacking that tall, contested-catch guy which is exactly the contribution Tee Higgins can bring. Adding his skillset in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft to this offense can make life a little easier on Josh Allen as they look to take the next step in 2020.
Though there is the uncertainty of Tom Brady‘s future with the New England Patriots, I think he still has more to give and I find it hard to believe that it would be anywhere but New England. With that said, Brady needs a dynamic field-stretcher to help give this offense back the spark that it was missing in 2019. Jalen Reagor is one of my favorite wide receiver prospects in this class and this pairing of team and prospect is one of the scariest in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
One of my favorite prospects in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, Patrick Queen stays in the state of Louisiana for this one. The Saints are lacking athleticism at linebacker. Queen brings that along with instincts and coverage ability that is so important in today’s NFL. He is my number two overall linebacker and can make early contributions for an NFL defense.
Jeff Gladney is my second-highest graded cornerback in this class only behind Okudah. With that said, this 2020 NFL Mock Draft selection would be a steal in my opinion. Gladney’s natural coverage skills in both man and zone combined with his closing speed and ball skills make me believe that he can step into any defensive scheme and find lasting success at the next level.
Round 1, Pick 5: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
Round 1, Pick 18: A.J. Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa
I would be doing the Miami Dolphins a disservice if I took a quarterback with injury concerns without investing in protection for him. Josh Jones is an athletic offensive tackle prospect that has seen his name rise draft boards after his showing in Mobile, AL at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
I’m not the biggest Neville Gallimore fan, but I see the athleticism and pass-rush upside he has. The Seattle Seahawks are so close to being back to the Super Bowl, but they need another good offseason to get back over the hump. Gallimore can provide early contributions when rushing the passer from the interior.
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are coming off of an impressive season that resulted in a disappointing loss in the divisional round of the playoffs. Jackson needs another pass-catching target and I think Laviska Shenault Jr.‘s versatility can be a chess piece for this dynamic offense. This offense has already shown the ability to be different and creative and Shenault would give them another piece to do so with.
The Tennessee Titans are coming off of an impressive playoff run where they had the Kansas City Chiefs against the ropes. Adding Yetur Gross-Matos to this defensive front will give them another young piece with plenty of long-term upside with Jeffrey Simmons. His long and athletic frame has the potential to be dangerous with some development at the next level.
Green Bay prioritized the defense in the 2019 NFL Draft, but it’s time they invest in this passing attack to ensure that it stays atop the league as one of the most prolific passing offenses in the NFL. KJ Hamler can line up in the slot and be a three-level threat with speed and athleticism. It shouldn’t be hard for Hamler to find early success in that role with Aaron Rodgers throwing you the football.
The San Francisco 49ers were so close to calling themselves world champions. Unfortunately, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense became too much at the end. If Xavier McKinney was available at 31 overall for the 49ers, however, that would be a step in the right direction. He is so versatile and can play in several different ways successfully for a defense. He’s a do-it-all defender that can provide this defense even more dynamic plays in 2020.
The Chiefs are the best team in the NFL with one of the best offenses of all-time. Their offense has enough juice, and I would hate to give them another weapon at their disposal. With that said, I looked to the defensive side of the ball and took Damon Arnette. He can do a lot of things well and should translate well as a number two corner in the NFL.
