Jeffrey Okudah. 3. player. 50. Pick Analysis. CB. Ohio State. Scouting Report

This is likely a selection that is traded for a quarterback-needy team to get their guy, but because I am not predicting trades in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, I have the Lions taking the best player available at a position of need in Jeffrey Okudah. The former Buckeye is a top-tier prospect in the class and can develop into a top corner in the NFL. He may be the best corner prospect since Jalen Ramsey.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Clemson. 31. LB. Isaiah Simmons. 4. player

Many people are mocking an offensive tackle to New York at four overall, but with the growing number of tackles climbing up draft boards, I think there are good options for the Giants in the second round at that position. Isaiah Simmons, however, is a rare talent that can do a lot of things well for an NFL defense. His versatility at his size is unheard of and any defensive coordinator would be happy to utilize his skillset in their defense.

Scouting Report. 5. player. Pick Analysis. QB. Alabama. Tua Tagovailoa. 59

With their first of three first-round picks, I have the Dolphins taking their future at quarterback. The combine will be huge for Tua Tagovailoa regarding his health. If it all checks out, there is no doubt that Tua should be a top-five selection just as he is in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft. His film grade came out eerily close to Burrow’s for me, and I think people forget how great Tua is as a prospect.

Pick Analysis. 13. QB. Oregon. Justin Herbert. 6. player. Scouting Report

With Philip Rivers officially parting ways with Los Angeles, the Chargers quickly come to the forefront of quarterback-needy teams. After a huge Senior Bowl, Justin Herbert has solidified himself as a top prospect in this year’s class and the Chargers should have no hesitation pulling the trigger on the Oregon quarterback. There is development needed to find lasting success in the NFL, but all the tools are there to make you feel comfortable taking him with the sixth overall pick.

7. player. Pick Analysis. IDL. Auburn. Derrick Brown. 87. Scouting Report

This is a worst-case scenario for the Panthers. They miss out on all of the top quarterbacks as well as Isaiah Simmons who could provide the spark that Luke Keuchly gave this defense. Derrick Brown is an exceptional football player that will make a living off of penetrating and disrupting the backfield. Pairing Brown with a future star in Brian Burns and you should have yourself a great young core on the defensive line that will disrupt the NFC South for many years.

Pick Analysis. OT. Alabama. Jedrick Wills. 8. player. 32. Scouting Report

Though Kyler Murray is already one of the best escape artists in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals would be smart to invest in protection for their often-critiqued “under-sized” quarterback. Jedrick Wills is my top offensive tackle and fits perfectly in Kliff Kingsbury‘s offensive scheme. His best trait is his footwork and hand usage in pass-protection and should transition smoothly to the NFL.

9. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb. player. 52

With their current roster construction, the Jacksonville Jaguars are forced to commit to the Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew II quarterback room for now. Neither signal-caller is notably great so surrounding them with talent is how they will find the most success. DJ Chark showed that he can be a weapon for this offense, but they are lacking that true number one pass-catching target. CeeDee Lamb can step in a bring that dynamic presence after the catch that this team needs.

OT. 10. 53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Georgia. Andrew Thomas. player

The Browns have one of the most talented offenses in the NFL, but Baker Mayfield didn’t have the time in the pocket to take advantage. Andrew Thomas is my second-highest graded offensive tackle and is a strong tackle that can play on either side of the line. He is a great pass blocker, but his best work comes when he is blocking for the run. With Nick Chubb and this receiving core, this offense can be super explosive with this trustworthy selection in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft.
