After another disappointing first-round exit, John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson, and the Baltimore Ravens look for new talent to fill out a championship roster.

After a much more promising 2019 regular season campaign spear-headed by MVP Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens still failed to get a playoff victory. With minimal impending free agents this 2020 offseason, Baltimore can look to top-off an already competitive roster with even more talent via the 2020 NFL draft.

As well as looking to the immediate future, Baltimore needs to look to incoming rookies in the 2020 NFL draft as the future of the franchise when the contracts of cornerstone pieces come to an end. As well as addressing future needs, players acquired need to be able to fit into their ‘new-age power run or hybrid defense to be able to contribute day one.

Baltimore’s offense currently revolves around the dynamic contributions of Lamar Jackson and a stable of tight ends led by Mark Andrews. Mark Ingram has been a complimenting punisher in the ground game alongside Lamar, and rookie wide receiver Marquise Brown added needed explosiveness outside the numbers.

Baltimore defensively operates in a hybrid defensive scheme with 3-4 outside linebackers bringing pressure from the edges. With all-pro safety Earl Thomas leading the secondary alongside recent acquisition Marcus Peters, this physical defense is built to compliment the offense with a punishing style of play and big playmakers in the secondary.

Baltimore’s biggest unrestricted free agents this upcoming offseason include Jimmy Smith, Michael Pierce, Seth Roberts, and Pernell McPhee. None of these players are going to break the mold if they do leave this offseason, but their production and roles will need to be filled by incoming rookies and less expensive free agents.
