Round 2: Ben Bartch, Offensive Tackle, St.John’s (MN)

It is no secret that the Vikings need offensive line help. They have for the past few years. Minnesota has a few cornerstone pieces in place with Brian O’Neill and Garrett Bradbury, but still have some question marks along the rest of the front five.

Ben Bartch is an intriguing prospect with a lot of potential coming off of a consistent Senior Bowl Week showing in Mobile, AL. He is a solid athlete who has incredible light feet that allows him to move with ease.

With that being said he is extremely raw technique wise and will need some coaching up to reach his full potential. With a successful Senior Bowl out of the way, Ben Bartch is a name on the rise, and with being a Minnesota guy this fit makes sense.

Round 3: Jason Strowbridge, Interior Defensive Lineman, North Carolina

The Vikings have a decision to make with Linval Joseph on the interior. He is getting older and carries a heavy cap number for a team looking to shed salary. Joseph very well could be a cap casualty. They have capable replacements like Jaleel Johnson on the roster, but the Vikings have never been shy of drafting defensive lineman.

Strowbridge is nothing like Joseph. He is a lot more athletic, a lot smaller and can play on the outside at EDGE if needed. He has a high motor and is constantly generating penetration from the interior as a pass rusher, and always seems to end up in the backfield for big losses.

His stock was already rising after a strong 2019-2020 campaign, but with a dominant performance in Mobile, he might not even make it this far on Draft Day. Time will tell.
