The Minnesota Vikings having some tough contract decisions to make with some of their aging players. These are some options for replacements.

The Minnesota Vikings have always had the most talented and complete rosters in the NFL, but somehow always seem to come up short in big moments. With the majority of their roster now aging, or have massive contracts; the Vikings have some tough decisions to make.

In this NFL Mock Draft, the Vikings add some much needed youth at some key positions.

This mock was made using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine and their Predictive Big Board.

Round 1: Jeff Gladney, CB, Texas Christian University (TCU)

The Vikings have some roster decisions to make, especially with guys in the secondary. Xavier Rhodes took a nose dive off a cliff in production this past year, and is a likely cut candidate with a hefty price tag. Mackensie Alexander and Trae Wayne are both slated to be free agents at the end of the year, and with the current Vikings cap situation it is likely that only one of those two are back for the 2020 NFL season.

They need to get younger, and cheaper in the secondary. Insert Jeff Gladney here in the first round. I have seen the Vikings go numerous ways in the first, but I feel defensive back is a must here early on. Gladney is a top four corner on my board so this is an incredible get here for Minnesota.

Gladney is one of the more underrated corners in this draft class. He is athletic, and rangy with really great reactive ball skills and coverage ability. He is always in the right spot defensively to make a play and is incredibly instinctive at finding the football.

With a defensive mind like Mike Zimmer, a coach that is known for developing defensive backs, Jeff Gladney could become one of the better cover corners in the NFL within a few years.
