2020 NFL Draft: Predicting where the top QB prospects will land
Although Tua Tagovailoa’s health is a question mark, his ability to impact football games is not.
Todd McShay was recently on TV with ESPN saying that he’s a left-handed Drew Brees when all cylinders are firing, essentially, and he’s not entirely incorrect.
Tua is a tremendous athlete with big-game poise and all the arm talent in the world. He played through injuries in 2018 and still managed to put together an outstanding, Heisman-worthy campaign for Alabama.
The Dolphins hired Chan Gailey out of retirement to be their offensive coordinator, and he didn’t come out of retirement to coach Ryan Fitzpatrick.
They’re going to be getting him a quarterback who can execute a spread style offense and sling the ball around the yard, and that’s precisely what Tagovailoa can do and do at a high level.
He can play just as well off script as he can on it, and he’s the type of quarterback who, when healthy, elevates everyone around him. I think the Dolphins would be surprised at how quickly they could contend with this guy at QB.
