Wide Receiver

Make no mistake about it, the New York Jets need a true number one receiver for Sam Darnold. Robby Anderson is on his way to free agency and is expected to get a deal north of $11 million per year. Anderson is not a number one receiver, but he has built a nice connection with Darnold and he has developed into a well-rounded receiver.

If it were up to me I would offer Robby a deal worth $12 million per year for four years. Joe Douglas could be creative and add some incentives in the deal as well. With Anderson back in the fold, the Jets have something to build on. Jamison Crowder led the team with 78 receptions and he’ll be returning for his second season with Gang green.

The best scenario would be to add more talent in the draft. This draft class is loaded with talented receivers on all three days of the draft. The New York Jets could take multiple pass-catchers in the 2020 NFL draft and pair them with Anderson and Crowder. Darnold could have a lot to work with if Douglas could hit on his draft picks.
