Although I was looking for every reason to go with a defensive player with this pick here, the opportunity to continually fortify the Dolphins’ offensive line in front of Tua Tagovailoa was too enticing to pass up on.

Though Cesar Ruiz is one of the youngest players in this draft class, he’s also one of the best interior linemen available and someone who can start right away as an NFL center.

Ruiz is built NFL ready at 6-foot-4, 320 pounds, but he’s also both physical enough and agile enough to play at a high level against NFL talent.

Ruiz is experienced despite being just 20 years old and has done a good job of leading the offensive line as far as being the guy who has to call out protections.

He has the ability to drive people back with his physicality but is also very good in space and light on his feet.
