The Dolphins undoubtedly have to do what it takes to protect whatever asset they bring in at the quarterback position.

In the simulation I ran for this mock draft, Josh Jones was a bit of a ‘reach’ on the board but he was the best tackle available with the Dolphins’ second first-round pick.

Even though Jones may be considered a ‘reach’ at this point, I’m not so sure NFL teams are going to see it the same way.

He’s got the length and athleticism to truly hang with any type of rusher off the edge and in today’s NFL, that’s extremely valuable. Especially considering the top pick in this scenario is Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins have to ensure their new quarterback is upright as long as possible.

Jones is a bit on the raw side compared to some other prospects in this class, but the upside is tremendous and he played a lot of football in college. A great week at the Senior Bowl has him in the top 20 conversation, at the very least.
