Pick Analysis. Middle Linebacker. Miami. Shaquille Quarterman. 5. player. 834. Scouting Report

In the last four drafts, the Kansas City Chiefs have had 27 total picks and have taken just two linebackers with those selections. Their current group of backers has been pieced together via trades and free agency, but I think the 2020 NFL Draft is the perfect time to add some young talent to the mix. So with the final pick of the Kansas City Chiefs 2020 NFL Draft, I have them taking Shaquille Quarterman out of Miami.

Quarterman was a four-year starter with the Hurricanes, setting the school record for consecutive starts with 52 straight. He finished his career with 356 tackles, 45.5 of them being behind the line of scrimmage, and had 12 sacks to his credit.

He’s got a relentless motor, plenty of strength to get off blocks and would be a big boost to a defense that ranked 26th in run defense this season. While he doesn’t offer a ton in terms of coverage ability, Quarterman is a smart player that doesn’t have to have elite foot speed to make a play from time to time.

He is a true middle-linebacker that would add a lot of physicality, passion, and depth to this unit. This would be a great way to close out a promising group of 2020 NFL Draft picks.
