First-Round 2020 NFL mock draft after the Super Bowl
Aside from Chase Young, Jeffrey Okudah may be the best defensive prospect in this draft class. Him falling all the way to the Jacksonville Jaguars at number nine is the best value selection in the top ten of this 2020 NFL mock draft.
Okudah is a legitimately elite cornerback prospect who has massive upside at the next level. With ideal size, length, athleticism and quickness, Okudah was seemingly built in a lab to be an NFL cornerback. He is a fantastic man-to-man corner sticks with receivers through their routes extremely well. Okudah has quick feet and changes directions extremely well. He also has more than enough speed to defend against the deep ball.
Okudah is also a smart cornerback who reads the quarterback well in zone coverage. He does a great job of breaking on the ball on the outside and has fantastic natural ball skills.
Landing Okudah here is legitimately the best-case scenario for the Jaguars. When they traded Jalen Ramsey, we all said that they will not be able to replace him. You just cannot replace a guy like that. However, Okudah might be good enough to legitimately replace Ramsey. I would honestly not be surprised if he quickly became one of the very best cornerbacks in the NFL.
I am not going to over-think this Andrew Thomas evaluation. No, he is not the most flexible or athletic offensive tackle in this draft class. Yes, he will struggle at times against elite speed on the edge. That being said, this guy is an absolute mauler who will have success at the next level. The Cleveland Browns have a massive need at the offensive tackle position and they would be crazy to not consider Thomas here.
Thomas is an incredibly powerful offensive lineman who absolutely dominates at the point of attack. He shows extremely strong hands and a powerful lower body. He is also an extremely aggressive offensive lineman who consistently plays through the whistle and looks to embarrass his opponent.
Thomas is a mean and nasty offensive lineman who could come in and be an immediate upgrade for the Cleveland Browns at the left tackle position. He is not a perfect player, but he is going to be a good starter in the NFL for many years.
