QB. Alabama. 5. 59. Scouting Report. Tua Tagovailoa. player. Pick Analysis

Whether they end up being able to stand pat at five and take him or use some of their extra draft capital to trade up, Tua Tagovailoa feels like a sure-bet to land with the Miami Dolphins on draft day. Tagovailoa was once the clear top quarterback in this draft class and undoubtedly has massive upside at the next level.

In this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Dolphins are able to stand pat and bring Tua in to lead their rebuild. Tagovailoa had a fantastic college career, consistently showing fantastic playmaking ability. He shows impressive pocket presence, has good arm strength and understands how to read the defense.

However, Tua’s most impressive trait is his accuracy. He has legitimately elite accuracy and ball placement to all areas of the field. This guy can put the ball on a dime in any situation and he does so on a consistent basis.

Obviously, there are major durability concerns here that make Tua a risky selection. However, he is an extremely talented player at the most important position in the game. If this pick hits, the Dolphins are suddenly an extremely interesting team that could quickly put themselves in a position to be competitive.

13. Scouting Report. QB. Oregon. Pick Analysis. Justin Herbert. 6. player

A quick little run on quarterbacks here as the Los Angeles Chargers take Justin Herbert with the sixth overall pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft. Herbert is an extremely athletic and big-armed quarterback prospect who undoubtedly has a high ceiling at the next level. He also shows impressive accuracy, especially in the short-to-intermediate range.

Herbert has struggled a bit with reading through his progressions and making the right decision, which is obviously a concern. That being said, the talent is obviously there for him to be a fantastic NFL quarterback.

Philip Rivers is not going to be back with the Chargers and they would undoubtedly like to find a long-term solution at the quarterback position. Herbert is not a perfect player, but he is a talented guy who could have a lot of success in LA. The Chargers have a lot of offensive playmakers on their roster. All they need is a guy who can consistently get them the ball.
