Pick Analysis. LB. Scouting Report. Clemson. Isaiah Simmons. 3. player. 50

The Detroit Lions are in an extremely interesting spot here. Unless they surprisingly take a quarterback, I expect this pick to be traded. There are simply too many talented defensive players available who make sense for Detroit here. If they can trade down a few picks and pick up some extra draft capital, they would still be able to land a player who would be realistic for them at number three overall.

We are not doing trades in this 2020 NFL mock draft so Detroit has to stand pat. The decision here comes down to Ohio State cornerback Jeffrey Okudah, Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown and Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons. In this 2020 NFL mock draft, Simmons is the pick.

Simmons is a do-it-all defensive player who has massive upside at the next level. He has legitimately elite athleticism and range for a linebacker prospect, which makes him an ideal fit for the modern NFL. Lions head coach Matt Patricia typically likes more size at linebacker, but Simmons is simply too talented to ignore. Here, the Lions get a guy who they can legitimately build their defense around. He would immediately become a massive playmaker for this team.

OT. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Jedrick Wills Jr.. 4. player. 31. Scouting Report

This one just makes too much sense not to happen. New York Giants general manager David Gettelman loves to build his teams through the offensive and defensive lines. He particularly loves big and powerful players and offensive tackle is the biggest need on this roster. Jedrick Wills Jr. is considered by most to be the best offensive tackle in this class and his game is built on raw power and strength.

Wills consistently dominates at the line of scrimmage, firing off of the ball quickly and driving defenders off of the ball. He is incredibly powerful at the point of attack and does a great job of sustaining his blocks throughout the play.

Wills is a dominant run defender who would immediately make Saquon Barkley‘s life better. He is also a strong pass protector who would help keep Daniel Jones clean in the pocket. Wills feels like the perfect fit for the New York Giants and I would be surprised if he is not the pick at four.
