First-Round 2020 NFL mock draft after the Super Bowl
It is always incredibly difficult to predict what the New England Patriots will do in the draft. However, when push comes to shove, we give the Patriots a defender. Xavier McKinney is one of the best players still on the board and his defensive versatility would undoubtedly fit well in New England.
McKinney is an extremely quick and explosive defender who can make an impact in a variety of ways. He has the combination of range and ball skills to make an impact on the back-end, is a strong man-to-man defender and has shown the ability to make plays when asked to blitz. Simply put, McKinney is a strong defensive playmaker who could come in and make an immediate impact for the Pats.
With the 24th pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the New Orleans Saints snag LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Michael Thomas is one of the best receivers in the NFL but the Saints have severely lacked impact players at the position. Jefferson is one of the best route runners in this class and attacks the ball in the air extremely well. He would be an immediate playmaker in this offense and would likely be a fan favorite coming from the LSU National Championship team.
Xavier Rhodes took a major step back this season, leaving a major hole at the cornerback position for the Minnesota Vikings. With the 25th pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Vikings select LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton.
Fulton is one of the best cornerbacks in this draft class, showing impressive natural man-to-man coverage skills on the outside. He is an extremely quick and athletic cornerback who should be able to come in and make an immediate impact on this team. The Vikings find great value at a major position of need here.
