First-Round 2020 NFL mock draft after the Super Bowl
The Jacksonville Jaguars significantly improved their defense with the selection of Jeff Okudah earlier in this 2020 NFL mock draft. However, they fill another defensive need with another talented player here, snagging LSU linebacker Patrick Queen at No. 20.
Queen is an incredibly quick and athletic linebacker who always seems to find his way to the ball. He is a tremendous sideline-to-sideline run defender who also tackles well in space. Queen is also a strong coverage linebacker and has even shown some pass-rush upside. He is a perfect fit for the modern NFL and would be a strong addition to the Jags defense.
I strongly considered giving the Philadelphia Eagles a wide receiver here, but one of the best players on the board also filled a major position of need for this team. With the 21st pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Eagles bring in Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson.
Henderson is an extremely smooth and athletic cornerback prospect who shines in man coverage and shows plenty of ability in zone. He has plenty of speed and quickness to keep up with most receivers, is physical throughout the coverage rep and has great ball skills. The Eagles need more talent at the cornerback position and Henderson is undoubtedly one of the best in this class.
With Tee Higgins on the board, this is a pretty easy decision for the Buffalo Bills here. The Bills have major needs at the wide receiver position and Higgins fits what they need extremely well.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen has shown plenty of promise the last couple of seasons, but he is never going to be an accurate passer. Allen is a playmaker, but he is not a guy who can consistently place the ball on a dime.
With that in mind, Higgins is a great fit for Buffalo. Higgins is a big and physical receiver who has a fantastic catch radius on the outside. He is also extremely impressive in contested-catch situations and even shows some nice deep speed. With the 22nd pick of this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Bills get Allen his number one receiver.
