Alabama. Jerry Jeudy. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. 9. 829

The Broncos own three picks in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. They should think about using them as incentives for moving up the board. The team requires more options in the passing game and there is not a better way to assess that by trading up for the top receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft class.

Last season, Courtland Sutton carried the Broncos receiving core on his back. Sutton earned 550 more receiving yards than the next leading teammate, rookie tight end Noah Fant. The group was so lousy that even Emmanuel Sanders finished third in receiving yards and he traded from the team after week seven.

The Broncos finished the season with the 28th ranked passing offense. If head coach Vic Fangio wants to prevent the inevitable double-teams on Sutton, then he’ll need another intimating weapon on the outside.

Jerry Jeudy’s play has initiated the conversation about being the best Alabama wide receiver prospect to enter the draft since Julio Jones. And for good reason. Jeudy’s route running is near impeccable, allowing him to get open with ease.

Jeudy also possesses a nice release, creating ideal separation on his break. The way he’s able to maneuver his body with his incredible flexibility and footwork makes him a threat in space. He is also able to plant his foot and the ground and sell the fake on routes. He can also be utilized behind the line of scrimmage on jet sweeps and screens.

The thing that truly stands out from Jeudy is his talent to gain yards after the catch. His vision is excellent with the ball in his hands. He can change directions in a heartbeat and cuts in the open field close to that of Darren Sproles in his prime. Jeudy finished with over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in both his junior and senior years at Alabama.
