A.J. Terrell did not play well in the National Championship game and it has hurt his draft stock. In this 2020 NFL mock draft, Terrell fell to the late second round, before the Miami Dolphins scooped him up at No. 56 overall. His performance against LSU was ugly, but let’s be honest, Ja’Marr Chase will make almost any cornerback look bad. I still like Terrell as a prospect and think he is a nice value selection for Miami here.

Terrell is a high-level athlete at the cornerback position who shows quick feet and attacks the ball in the air well. He is also a smart man-to-man defender who typically understands what the receiver is trying to accomplish. Terrell is an extremely talented defensive prospect who should quickly grow into a reliable option on the outside at the next level.

The Miami Dolphins go on the clock next in the third round, with the 70th overall pick. This means that they have six picks in the top 70 of the 2020 NFL Draft, an absolutely ridiculous amount of draft capital to work with.

With their third-round selection in this 2020 NFL mock draft, the Dolphins double-up at the offensive tackle position. The selection of Jones earlier undoubtedly helps their offensive line, but that position was an absolute mess last season and could use some serious work. TCU offensive tackle Lucas Niang is the pick for Miami here.

Niang is a big (6-foot-7, 328 pounds) and athletic offensive tackle who also has extremely long arms. Based on the measurables alone, Niang is an exciting prospect. However, he is also an extremely raw player who simply must improve his footwork and hand usage at the next level. Niang is unlikely to see the field much as a rookie, but if he can improve the finer things in his game, the sky is the limit for him as an offensive tackle at the next level.
