Two-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Where will the top players land?
Super Bowl LIV is in six days which means the draft is getting closer. Teams are beginning to dig deeper into eligible prospects as the offseason commences. Let’s take a look at some team fits with a two-round 2020 NFL mock draft.
The draft is fast approaching which means it’s 2020 NFL mock draft season. Mobile, Alabama was scoured with scouts and executives for the annual Senior Bowl. This is where all of the top seniors in all of college football come to display their talents for NFL teams. For many players, this is a big opportunity to get invited to the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February.
Around this time is when we start to hear some rumblings of what teams are thinking in the early stages of the offseason. They’ll be rumors of some big-time free agents heading to a new home which could change a team’s plans for the draft. There will be a bunch of speculation regarding teams that are looking for a starting quarterback.
Where will Phillip Rivers land now that we know he’s likely done with the Chargers? Will Tom Brady’s time in New England finally come to an end? He’s spent 20 seasons with Belichick and the Patriots that it would be hard to imagine him anywhere else. Brady will be entering his age 43 season so it’s hard to fit him in with a team that needs a starting quarterback and is ready to contend.
As for Rivers, there have been rumors that he permanently moved his family to Florida and there’s a certain team down in Tampa Bay that needs a starting quarterback. Jameis Winston put up a season we’ve never seen in 100 years of the NFL. Winston threw for 30 touchdowns but also threw 30 interceptions. They have to at least consider moving on. For all the highs in Winston’s young career there have been just as many lows.
The 2020 NFL Draft in all sense and purposes starts at number three with the Detroit Lions. The top two picks are likely set with Cincinnati and Washington taking the consensus top two players in the entire draft. Detroit will have a plethora of options to choose from, one of them being a trade out. I elected not to do any trades in this 2020 NFL mock draft being it’s my first mock of the season.
This class is as deep as I’ve seen. They’ll be players that fall into the second round that could have gone in the first in any other of the previous drafts. Teams will be able to find starters late into day two of the draft and could find some key players well into day three. Without further ado, let’s get started with this complete two-round 2020 NFL mock draft.
Note: This 2020 NFL mock draft order was completed using the Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine. There will be no trades in this mock draft. The only change to the order will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Fransisco 49ers. I have the Chiefs winning Super Bowl LIV which would mean they’ll have the last pick in round one at 32 overall.
