The Dallas Cowboys stick with defense selecting a defensive back in consecutive picks. Ohio State Cornerback Damon Arnette could be a big get in the second round for Dallas. Arnette has shown the ability to switch between outside corner and the slot which is a very important skill to have. You rarely see the ability for a corner to have success at both positions.

Outside corners usually struggle in the slot where they cannot rely on the sideline. They’re essentially in open space and have little margin for error. Slot cornerbacks don’t normally have the size and physical tools to match up with wideouts which end up with them getting overmatched.

This doesn’t apply to Arnette who has all the tools to succeed in both areas. He has good size at 6-foot and 194 pounds combined with great athleticism. His ball skills are advanced and he’s an efficient tackler. It’s surprising that Arnette hasn’t garnered any first-round consideration. I’ve watched plenty of Ohio State games throughout the years and Arnette is in the same company as guys like Marshon Lattimore and Denzel Ward.

I’m not too sure what or how Mike Nolan will run his defense but Damon Arnette is a very good press corner and could lock down an opposing team’s wide receiver, but if he runs more zone that could allow Arnette to rack up interceptions. Overall, I believe this could be a very solid player for the Dallas Cowboys.

I already went over how the Dallas Cowboys need to get more pass catchers for Prescott, namely at the tight end position. LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss could be a security blanket for the Cowboys signal-caller.

The Cowboys already have great weapons at receiver with Cooper and Gallup and have one of the best running backs in the entire league. Let me tell you my vision for this Dallas Cowboys offense. Now, I’m sure Kellen Moore can adapt his scheme to his players so this hinges on adaptability.

Dallas should bring back Blake Jarwin via an original round tender which would give them two playable tight ends when he is paired with Moss. They’ll likely bring back Randall Cobb to reunite him with McCarthy which could put a wrench in my plans.

My vision would be to run 12 personnel (1RB, 2TE, 2WR) with Moss and Jarwin on the filed at the same time with Zeke, Cooper and Gallup. Prescott is at his best when he’s on the move in play-action and Moss could be a potential game-changer in this offense.

Now, obviously they won’t be running this all the time but a solid 40% wouldn’t be a bad idea. I would always cringe whenever they would be in an empty set and Prescott would have forever to throw, but would never make anything happen.

It’s crazy to even think about with all the weapons he has at his disposal but sometimes the offense was just too bland. With the addition of Moss, the Dallas Cowboys offense could open up a number of possibilities.
