Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt

Ke’Shawn Vaughn has had an interesting college career. He started at Illinois, and after a sophomore season of limited usage, he transferred to Vanderbilt, where he put up a 1,244 yard, 12 touchdown season as a junior.

There were expectations coming into his senior season, and he again put up 1,000 yards on the ground.

Vaughn has breakaway speed when he gets into the open, and he’s big enough to absorb contact from defenders. He needs to work a little bit on his vision, but his three down ability should impress coaches down at the Senior Bowl. It could be a very good week for him.

Lamical Perine, Florida

The other running back with plenty of buzz heading into the week is Florida’s Lamical Perine. Perine has had four solid years for the Gators, and became more of an option in the passing game in 2019 with 40 catches. Perine has some burst, quickness, and works very well through contact.

Because of the talent in the class, he’s been pushed down much further. If Perine puts together a strong week down in Mobile, showing his three down ability, teams with running back needs will give him a strong look near the end of day two or early on day three.
