2020 NFL Draft: Patriots find a QB of the future in two-round mock draft
After going with Derrick Brown at 12 with the pick that they acquired from the Chicago Bears, the Raiders use their own first-rounder in the 2020 NFL Draft to spice up their offense for their move to Las Vegas. After the Antonio Brown saga last offseason, the Raiders have really been missing a true number one receiver.
Tee Higgins is a big body receiver with good speed, great hands and impressive production his last two seasons at Clemson. Despite his reputation as a red zone, jump ball target (which he does do very well) Higgins showed his versatility this year on his way to over 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Higgins can prove that he is more than his 6-foot-4 frame given the chance to be a number one receiver in the NFL. He can make plays all over the field and with Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller working underneath and over the middle, Higgins can make an impact outside and deep down the field for the sneaky good Raiders.
Like the Raiders ahead of them, this is the second selection for the Jags in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. And like the Raiders they address the other side of the ball from their first pick. In fitting fashion, at pick 20 using the selection they acquired from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for an aforementioned Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville attempts to find his replacement.
In terms of superstar potential, C.J. Henderson is right there with Jeff Okudah at the cornerback position for the 2020 NFL Draft. Fulton is likely a safer, more solid prospect, but Henderson has the physical traits that give him a sky-high ceiling.
Henderson is very long, athletic and has outstanding ball skills. He may be a little too aggressive sometimes, leading to some bonehead plays and blown coverages, but he has all the things that scouts look for in corners. He can stay right with receivers and break up anything that comes his way. If he gets the ball in his hands he’s also more than capable of taking it back the other way.
Without Ramsey, the Jaguars’ defense has not looked nearly the same. They struggle to stop opposing passing attacks with just A.J. Bouye. Bouye and Ramsey were a terrifying tandem, and Henderson is more than capable of filling those shoes to some extent.
