Scouting Report. OT. Iowa. Tristan Wirfs. Pick Analysis. 11. player. 30

Much like the Browns, the New York Jets are in dire need of offensive line help. Here, I give them the best guy available in Tristan Wirfs. This works out well for the Jets because Wirfs is a top-tier offensive tackle prospect and selecting him at this pick is a good value. This isn’t a flashy pick, but New York fans will be happy to see Sam Darnold not getting pressured on nearly every snap in 2020.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 12. player. WR. Alabama. Jerry Jeudy. 28

The new Las Vegas Raiders need to give Derek Carr weapons. I’m not a big Carr fan, but how can you expect him to succeed when his receiving core is headlined by Tyrell Williams and Zay Jones. Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller were consistent playmakers for this offense but the Raiders need to add a receiving threat to this roster.

Jerry Jeudy is a receiver that can make life easy on an average quarterback. His ability to create separation will open up this passing offense. Derek Carr is reliant on having dynamic playmakers to make him look good and since Amari Cooper‘s departure, he hasn’t had that guy in the receiving core.

S. Grant Delpit. 13. 123. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU. player

Colts’ general manager, Chris Ballard, is one of the aggressive at accumulating draft capital for the future. With Andrew Luck‘s retirement before the 2019 season, that put Indianapolis back a couple of years in contending for a Super Bowl.

If the Cowboys see Grant Delpit as the guy they want, I can very well see them getting aggressive and ensuring they get the LSU safety here. Dallas is in a win-now mode, and getting a playmaker on the back-end of this defense significantly raises their potential as a defense. The secondary is the only unit that needs significant work and the Cowboys should look to address it in the middle of the first round.

Utah State. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Jordan Love. 14. 48

Bruce Arians values one thing in quarterbacks; arm strength. It’s safe to say it’s time to move on from Jameis Winston and commit elsewhere for their future at quarterback. Though Jordan Love isn’t a polished prospect, his arm talent and potential warrants a first-round selection for a quarterback-needy team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Even with this selection, I think it’s safe to think that the Bucs may franchise-tag Winston to give Love a redshirt year to learn the system and catch up to the speed of the NFL. Being able to sit for some time before being thrown in the fire will carry a significant impact in Jordan Love’s career as an NFL quarterback.

WR. Alabama. Henry Ruggs III. 15. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 45

Drew Lock sure did show a lot of promise late in the season. The Broncos have their future core of Lock, Phillip Lindsay, Noah Fant, and Courtland Sutton, however, Denver is without another wide receiver threat since Emmanuel Sanders left.

Henry Ruggs III is as good as it gets with this pick. His speed elevates the threat of Lock’s big arm downfield and can stretch the field. Defenses should scheme for Ruggs to neutralize the threat of the big play which will open up the short game for Fant and Lindsey. A deep-threat can add a lot to this offense that will create problems for defenses for years to come.

Pick Analysis. EDGE. player. Scouting Report. Iowa. A.J. Epenesa. 16. 44

This seems like an easy fit. The Falcons have invested much draft capital in recent years on pass-rushers but it hasn’t seemed to pan out. Falcons fans want Vic Beasley out of the picture and Takk McKinley hasn’t done anything that makes you believe he is going to be a top edge rusher in the future. A.J. Epenesa can step right in and be a versatile defensive end for this Falcons front. He and Grady Jarrett would be a great duo that can create havoc in the backfield.

Scouting Report. IDL. South Carolina. 17. Pick Analysis. Javon Kinlaw. player. 46

Indianapolis missed out on the quarterbacks at the top of the 2020 NFL Draft, but Jacoby Brissett is serviceable and they can wait another year to bring in their guy. This front office should then look to accumulate talent everywhere else as they have been doing for years so that when they commit to their next quarterback, there is a plethora of talent already surrounding him.

The Colts are missing a playmaker in the interior defensive line. Javon Kinlaw can create a pass rush better than most guys at his position. His technique and athleticism will translate well to the NFL. I think Javon Kinlaw can be a huge impact player at the next level.

player. 59. Scouting Report. K'Lavon Chaisson. Pick Analysis. EDGE. LSU. 18

The Dolphins added the best cornerback in the class with their last pick and I have them taking another difference-maker with this selection. K’Lavon Chaisson is a super athletic pass-rusher that wins with athleticism, burst, and bend. He can also drop back into zone coverage pretty effectively. His versatility and athleticism will be a nice addition to this rebuilding team.

Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. player. 28. Scouting Report. LB. Kenneth Murray. 19

The Raiders took wide receiver Jerry Jeudy with their first selection. They are unathletic at the linebacker position and it must be addressed. Kenneth Murray brings energy to the defense that I think fits what Jon Gruden likes. He can chase down ball-carriers sideline-to-sideline with his speed and will hit you with authority. Judging off of Gruden and Mike Mayock’s draft picks last season, this is exactly the mentality they want on the defensive side of the ball.

Trevon Diggs. 52. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Alabama. CB. 20. player

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded away cornerback Jalen Ramsey for this selection. Trevon Diggs is selected here to fill the void of an outside corner that is now missing with Ramsey gone. Diggs’ length and physicality fit with what Jacksonville historically likes in their cornerbacks and he has the athletic upside to be a great corner in the NFL someday.
