Quarterback: Josh Allen
Receivers: John Brown, Cole Beasley

Josh Allen needs help. John Brown can’t carry the load on his own and Cole Beasley can only contribute so much. Buffalo currently lacks the physical prowess on the outside to match up against physical corners, and Lamb can bring a new dimension to the Bills aerial offense.

Buffalo’s receiving arsenal currently sports a collection of undersized burners in John Brown and Isaiah Mckenzie. The lack of size on the outside forces Allen to be more accurate than he is currently capable of and a 6-foot-2 target like Lamb would give Allen a big security blanket as a bailout. Lamb also still has enough speed to fit into Buffalo’s current ‘speed-based’ passing offense.

A young quarterback’s typical security blanket usually comes in the form of a 6-foot-5 or taller tight end, and Allen has not had the chance to throw to such a target throughout his NFL tenure. The second form of security blanket for young NFL quarterbacks are big body receivers who can win the one-on-one balls downfield.

Matthew Stafford generated plenty of success in his early years utilizing Calvin Johnson‘s freakish athleticism, making blind throws and letting his receiver go up and make the play. Allen has lacked that same target, but Lamb could be the answer to his problems. With Allen’s pure arm talent, he will always be able to get the ball downfield into one-on-one situations and create winning situations for Lamb.

The 2020 NFL draft will be a key time for filling in the final gaps of a competitive roster, and Buffalo needs to capitalize. With plenty of depth throughout the draft for a number of position groups, finding top-end receiving talent right at the top is a must to help a young quarterback in need of targets.
