854. Pick Analysis. 60. player. Wide Receiver. Arizona State. Brandon Aiyuk. Scouting Report

As evidenced by the last Saturday’s divisional playoff match, the Baltimore Ravens are still in need of pass catchers. Throughout the entire game, Baltimore’s receivers struggled to hold onto the ball and make consistent plays. With a deep wide receiver class in front of them, the Baltimore Ravens are in a prime spot to take a reliable pass catcher.

In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Oklahoma receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown in the first round, they followed that pick by taking Notre Dame receiver Miles Boykin in the third. Overall, Brown had a decent rookie season, finishing the year 584 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Boykin had a much quieter rookie season with 198 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Outside of the two rookies, receivers Willie Snead and Seth Roberts combined for 610 receiving and seven touchdowns. While the low production from the receivers is a reflection of the Baltimore Ravens run-heavy scheme, adding another reliable target for Lamar Jackson should be a priority.

Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk has been one of the nicer surprises in this past college football season. Taking over after N’Keal Harry left for the NFL, Aiyuk finished his senior season with over 1,000 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns. On film, Aiyuk shows plenty of speed and ability to stretch the field vertically. Additionally, Aiyuk is a snappy route runner, showing explosion out of his breaks creating nice separation.

The Baltimore Ravens just locked up Snead for another year, however, he could be gone if they want to move in a different direction. Even if they keep him, Aiyuk can be a pick for the future of this team, offering another speedy receiver who can be a favorite of Jackson.
