2. Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson

Linebacker Rank: 1, Overall Rank: 7

Isaiah Simmons is as athletic as it gets. Whether he is making sideline-to-sideline plays on the running back or playing man coverage on the slot receiver, Simmons can do it all. He is a true “chess piece” that can be played all over the defense.

Simmons’ unique skill set allows him to be used in so many formations and schemes. It’s just up to the team that selects him in the 2020 NFL Draft to keep him on the field. His rare blend of size and athleticism can be so beneficial for an NFL defense to utilize. It’ll be interesting to see where he lines up against this dynamic LSU offense. No matter where he’s at, expect to see him make a positive impact for the Clemson defense.

3. Grant Delpit, S, LSU

Safety Rank: 1, Overall Rank: 12

Grant Delpit has really come on strong as of late. His elite instincts and ball-skills make him a turnover threat on almost every play. He has the athleticism to get anywhere on the field in a hurry and is one of the best talents in college football. He truly exemplifies LSU’s claim of DBU and should see success in the NFL.

This receiving core for Clemson is one of the best in the nation with one of the best quarterbacks, so this will definitely be a challenge for Delpit and the LSU defense. Look for Delpit to make some plays in the back-end of the defense when Lawerence and the Clemson offense try to generate big plays down the field.

4. Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

Cornerback Rank: 2, Overall Rank: 17

Another key-piece to this LSU defense is cornerback Kristian Fulton. His quick and smooth footwork with his natural man coverage skills makes him one of the top 2020 NFL Draft prospects. As of late, he has been out-shined by Derek Stingley Jr., but Fulton is still not a cornerback you want to test very often.

In this matchup, he will likely either be manned-up against Tee Higgins or Justyn Ross. Either way, Fulton will be forced with a tall-task as these are two of the most complete wide receivers in the country. This matchup could be a telling indicator of where we should expect to see him come off the board in April.
