Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle. Trey Adams. player. 53. Pick Analysis. Washington. 104

Here the Cleveland Browns go with a high risk, high reward prospect in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Trey Adams has the makings of a first-round pick as a left tackle prospect. He has prototypical size and technique for the position. But his significant injury history causes him to fall into the triple digits. A fall that I’m sure the Browns wouldn’t mind ending.

At 6-foot-8 and 314 lbs, Adams has the frame that NFL evaluators look for in a tackle prospect. He has great length and power to fend of defenders. He has pretty quick feet for his size, allowing him to stay in front of most speed rushers. He uses his hands well and has powerful drive in the run game as well.

Really the only way to exploit Adams when he is on the field is to actually use his frame against him. Being so tall, it is difficult for Adams to keep a low center of gravity. Keeping a low pad level and leverage with long powerful arms is the most effective way to disrupt Adams’ blocks.

Adams has suffered an ACL tear, as well as a bulging disk in his back, causing him to miss significant time throughout his Husky career. However, the redshirt senior started every game of the 2019 regular season at left tackle for Washington and will look to prove that his injury history is behind him.

After selecting Wirfs in the first round, the Browns could play this out however they would like. Put Wirfs at right tackle right away and let Adams develop behind Robinson or a free agent, put Wirfs at left tackle and try Adams out at right tackle, or if Adams impresses they could keep both players at their most comfortable position and have them both play right away. How much worse could it get?

53. Antonio Gandy-Golden. Liberty. 167. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver

Antonio Gandy-Golden is a raw, 6-foot-4 jump-ball receiver who excels in the red zone. He is a very solid athlete with a great knack for high-pointing throws and coming down with the ball. Although very productive in his two seasons at Liberty (1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns each season), the senior has little experience running a complex route tree.

With the unwillingness of the previous Cleveland Browns coaching regime to play Rashard Higgins, the Browns may be in need of a third wide receiver behind Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. Damion Ratley and KhaDarel Hodge both saw pretty significant playing time in 2019 and neither has quite the potential that Gandy-Golden possesses.

In the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft (the Cleveland Browns do not currently possess a fifth-round pick) why not take a chance on developing a guy like Gandy-Golden. He is very good in the red zone, where he could make an impact right away. Give him the chance to learn from two of the best in the game and see what he turns into.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Guard. Gage Cervenka. player. Clemson. 221. 53

Are you noticing a trend yet? The Cleveland Browns start, and now end, their 2020 NFL Draft with offensive line help. After addressing both tackle positions, the Browns take a chance on a raw guard prospect who could eventually turn into a starter if he develops properly.

Gage Cervenka began his college career on the other side of the ball before switching to the offensive line in 2016. After playing some center, Cervenka has settled in as the starting right guard for the Tigers in 2019.

Cervenka is incredibly powerful and makes some eye-popping blocks for the Clemson offense. He is a force in the run game and continues to improve his overall technique as he learns the position. He still has a lot of growing to do, but the physical traits are certainly there.
