Where could free agent quarterback Tom Brady wind up playing in 2020 if he decides to leave the New England Patriots? We look at each division for fits.

Where is Tom Brady going to play football in 2020?

We have a couple of months to keep asking that question and a couple of months to keep coming up with possible answers to it.

Although at this point in time, I personally have a hard time seeing Brady stepping onto an NFL field in anything but a New England Patriots uniform, we’ve seen crazier things in league history, right?

Back in 2011, it seemed crazy to think about Peyton Manning playing for another NFL team and the more sensible option besides not playing for the Indianapolis Colts would just have been to retire.

Until it wasn’t.

Brady wants to keep playing football, and there are reasons to leave the Patriots despite the fact that they have the top-ranked defense in the NFL.

Josh McDaniels could leave New England for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching gig. We know how connected he and Brady are and have been through the years.

The Patriots’ current group of receivers is not great, and while they have an offseason to figure all of that out, would the alternative of playing potentially with a new offensive coordinator and a re-stocked arsenal of weapons in New England be equally appealing or more appealing than Brady’s options around the NFL?

I’m not so sure about that.

Even if it’s more likely that Brady returns to New England than not, let’s explore the world where he doesn’t and find team fits across the NFL — one in every division, to be exact — starting with a rival in the AFC East.
