Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft: Swinging for the fences
The Raiders do not have a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but they do have three third-round selections, including back-to-back selections at 80 and 81 overall. At No. 80, Gruden and company look to fill their need at wide receiver, bringing in K.J. Hill out of Ohio State.
Hill shows fantastic agility and short-area quickness, making him a naturally elusive player in the open field. He uses his natural speed and quickness to naturally create space as a route-runner and he is a fantastic run after catch receiver. Hill also shows explosive speed and tracks the ball in the air extremely well.
Simply put, Hill is a silky smooth receiver and dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. The Raiders need more speed at the wide receiver position and Hill certainly satisfies that need.
With their next pick, the Raiders fill another need on the defensive side of the ball by bringing in Mississippi State cornerback Cameron Dantzler. Dantzler is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who shows some nice press coverage skills. He is a strong man coverage defender who attacks the ball in the air extremely well. In zone coverage, Dantzler does a great job of reading the quarterback and breaks on the ball at an incredibly high level.
Dantzler is a bit of a raw and inconsistent talent who will make mistakes that will cost his team early in his career. However, if he can ever put it all together consistently, his upside at the cornerback position is massive. Dantzler is an extremely talented cornerback who is worth taking a chance on here in the third round.
