NFL teams who should target DT Neville Gallimore in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 2020 NFL Draft is going to be loaded with impact players on the defensive side of the ball. In particular, this class is strong at edge rusher, interior defensive line and cornerback, as each position has multiple players whose teams will be able to count on as premier defenders at the next level.

One of my favorite defensive prospects in the 2020 NFL draft class is Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, who has been a strong contributor for Oklahoma for the last four seasons. He has never put up gaudy numbers, but when watching Gallimore, it is clear that he will be a difference-maker at the next level.

Gallimore shows an impressive combination of quickness and power on the interior defensive line. He is extremely quick off of the ball and incredibly strong in the upper body. Gallimore consistently shows great upfield burst and understands how to maintain leverage throughout the play.

He is the kind of guy who will fire off of the ball and get his hands on an offensive lineman quickly. Gallimore shows impressive lateral agility and understands how to shed blocks and chase down the ball carrier. An impressive read and react player, it is easy to see how Gallimore can make an impact as a run defender at the next level.

While he is a bit unrefined as a pass rusher, Gallimore shows the skill-set needed to grow in this area. His explosive first step allows him to gain an immediate advantage and he can overwhelm opposing offensive linemen with his power. If Gallimore can learn to develop a more nuanced pass-rush plan, he should be able to create consistent pressure from the interior at the next level. At worst, he will be able to collapse pockets and make life difficult on NFL quarterbacks.

Gallimore is an intriguing 2020 NFL draft prospect whose combination of size, power and athleticism gives him obvious upside at the next level. He is a fringe first-round prospect at the moment, but with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine, he could quickly move up the board.

Gallimore has the physical skill-set that will likely get the attention of many NFL teams, but who are the specific teams that make the most sense for him? Let’s take a look.
