The New York Giants are locked into the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Here, we look at their most logical targets at the pick.

The New York Giants had a very frustrating season. After starting 2-2 they lost nine games in a row to drop to 2-11. They were however in a good spot to land Chase Young, which would have been perfect for them because EDGE is a need and Young is a can’t miss prospect. However, after winning two more games and finishing at 4-12, the Giants now hold the fourth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. Young will be gone by the time they are on the clock.

It’ll be interesting to see how much the Giants spend this offseason as they have plenty of cap space to work with. Midseason acquisition defensive linemen Leonard Williams is a free agent and I would assume they would do what they can to get them back. Eli Manning is also a free agent, but I would be surprised if he didn’t either retire or sign with a team where he can start.

Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones had an up and down season, but he did show promise. Out of his 12 starts, he had four games where he threw for 300 or more yards, scored four or more touchdowns through the air or on the ground and threw no interceptions. At the same time, however, Jones threw 12 interceptions, put the ball on the ground 18 times, and 11 times the fumble was recovered by the other team. For a rookie quarterback, this is expected.

Despite Jones’ inconsistency, the New York Giants actually had a decent offense last year that averaged 21.3 points per game, which was tied for 18th in the NFL. However, the defense was simply abysmal, giving up an average of 28.2 points per game, which was 30th in the NFL.

This presents an interesting dilemma for the Giants this offseason. Do they upgrade their offense to help their rookie quarterbacks development or do they upgrade a defense that has been a disaster?

It’s hard to predict what Dave Gettleman will do. Last year, I don’t think anybody thought they would take Daniel Jones at six. The being said, let’s give it our best shot. Without further ado, here are the five most logical targets for the New York Giants at No. 4 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
