Quarterbacks

The quarterback position is not out of the realm of possibility for the Las Vegas Raiders, who could decide that a new city means a new name leading the franchise.

Trade Up: Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama

This is where the 2020 NFL Draft could get interesting for the Raiders, who have the capital to make a franchise-changing move. That move could involve packaging their two first-round picks to move ahead of Miami to select Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa looked like the best passer in the draft before his injury and possesses great leadership skills. The Raiders could have him for an interview and love what they hear.

12th pick: Jordan Love, Utah State

Jordan Love exists as a first-round possibility for the Raiders as well, especially if they stay put with their picks. Love has an abundance of tools, ranging from a great arm, great touch on the ball, and an ability to make plays on the move and off-platform. Gruden could see Love’s immense ceiling and believe that he could sit a year, learn his offense, and eventually become the starter.

19th pick: Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma

This is a bit of a wild card since no one can lock down a real window to where Jalen Hurts will be drafted. Some see him and believe he’s got a long way to go, while others note the improvement in 2019. The Raiders could see his intangibles and character, like Tua’s, and decide that he can be the guy for Las Vegas going forward.
