Pick Analysis. LSU. Kristian Fulton. Scouting Report. CB. 2. player. 44

The Atlanta Falcons need an upgrade at cornerback across from Desmond Trufant. Going into the season with Isaiah Oliver and Kendall Sheffield starting would be less than ideal. Isaiah Oliver received 56.8 overall grade from pro football focus, which ranked 88th out 125 cornerbacks. Kendall Sheffield received a 47.4 overall grade, which ranked 116th.

Kristian Fulton doesn’t get a lot of media attention but that’s just because he plays in the same secondary as Derek Stingley and Grant Delpit. He didn’t make an All-SEC team by the media or coaches, but he was named first-team All-SEC by pro football focus.

He was perhaps on his way to becoming a first or second-round pick in last year’s draft before he injured his ankle, which limited him to just weven games. This does raise some durability concerns, but he hasn’t missed any games this season so it shouldn’t affect his 2020 NFL draft stock too much.

Fulton is at his best when he’s in press, man-to-man coverage where he can use his size (6-foot-0), speed, and change of direction skills to stick with receivers. While he’s only recorded two career interceptions, he does have pretty good ball skills with 19 passes defended in 23 career games.
