Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. Jordan Elliott. player. 822. DT. Missouri

If the Eagles are not able to bring back Timmy Jernigan this offseason, the interior defensive line with quickly become a massive need for this team. Even if Jernigan returns, I would be surprised if they do not address the position at all in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here in the fourth round, the Eagles find an interesting defensive tackle prospect to add to the mix.

Jordan Elliott is an explosive and athletic interior defensive lineman who should fit their attacking defensive extremely well. He is quick off of the ball and makes up a lot of ground with his first few steps. Elliott is a good one-gap penetrator who showed the ability to make plays in the backfield against the run and can create some pressure as an interior pass rusher.

He is an extremely talented 2020 NFL draft prospect who could come in and provide immediate depth for the Eagles on the defensive line.

Pick Analysis. Alabama. 5. player. 829. Scouting Report. S. Shyheim Carter

Shyheim Carter is a tough and aggressive defensive back prospect who particularly shines as an in-the-box defender. Carter is also a quick and athletic player who can handle most tight ends and running backs in man coverage, but he is not the kind of guy who plays well on the back-end. He is always best used as a downhill defender who can come up and offer support against the run.

Carter is a smart defensive back who understands his responsibilities and has the athletic ability to consistently make plays on the ball. His physicality in the middle of the field is impressive and he does show some nice ability as a short zone defender.

The Eagles could certainly use some depth at the safety position and would be wise to consider Carter in the 2020 NFL Draft. They could bring him along slowly as a third or fourth safety and eventually groom him into a more full-time player.
