Dallas Cowboys 2020 mock draft: All aboard the Mike McCarthy train
If you’re a Cowboys fan, you might just be sick of seeing mock draft scenarios involving the star defensive tackle from South Carolina, but he was easily the best player on the board for me in this scenario and this is a selection that makes a lot of sense.
Kinlaw is a guy who is scheme versatile. I love his fit in a Mike Nolan defense both playing over the guard or even bumping out and playing some defensive end in a base look if need be. I think from day one, this guy is going to be a disruptive force on the defensive interior and the Cowboys certainly need some of that.
They may be dealing with the loss of Maliek Collins on the interior of their defensive line, which would create a void a player like Kinlaw could fill as a rookie.
Especially if the Cowboys are able to retain Robert Quinn, who was tremendous for them this year, they would have their bookends off the edge set with Quinn and DeMarcus Lawrence and a stud on the inside in Javon Kinlaw.
