Tennessee Titans

The Tennesse Titans have something cooking on the defensive side of the ball. While Arthur Smith’s offense was the talk of the NFL once Ryan Tannehill took over, the defense has the potential to be great. With many young pieces such as Jeffrey Simmons, Rashaan Evans, and Kevin Byard, and another offseason of building, the Titans could have something on defense.

In order to make those improvements, the Tennesse Titans need to address pass rusher in either free agency or the 2020 NFL Draft. Harold Landry broke out in 2019 with nine quarterback sacks, while former Raven in Kamelei Correa provided an additional five sacks to the teams sack total.

Rookie linebacker Derrick Roberson flashed some potential towards the end of the season by notching two sacks. However, despite this promise, the group could use some new blood to give it that extra kick.

While Anae doesn’t have the elite bend that Landry has, both players do have the requisite speed to be a problem for AFC South quarterbacks. While ideally, a defensive coordinator would want one of his edge defenders to play more of a run defense type of role. However, speed rush is a potent weapon and can be used to great effect in the right hands.

Although the Tennesse Titans could go pass rusher with their first pick, they currently hold the 57th pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Drafting Anae there would be great value for the Titans while allowing them to explore different areas in the first.
