Miami Dolphins

While managing to pull together a 5-11 record in a season that most media figures thought was essentially lost, the Miami Dolphins march into the 2020 offseason with hope. Armed with over $94 million dollars according to Spotrac, and11 draft picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dolphins have the ammo to build themselves up.

One such area they need to address is at pass rusher, as they are currently looking quite bare at the position. Former Mizzou standout and former first-round pick in Charles Harris has never put it together for Miami. Dallas Cowboys cast-off Taco Charlton, despite having his best season to date with five sacks, still doesn’t offer them much. Behind them, their depth includes James Crawford, Jamal Davis, and Trent Harris, the latter two are both exclusive rights free agents.

Currently, the Dolphins run a multiple front under DC Patrick Graham, alternating between a 3-4 and 4-3 front seven. While up until this point, I’ve listed predominately 3-4 teams, Anae mostly plays with his hand in the dirt for the Utes, so scheme fit shouldn’t be an issue. So when the defense is in a 3-4 look, he can rush from space and when they give the offense a 4-3 look, Anae can play with his hand down.

The Miami Dolphins are another team that could potentially double-dip at pass rusher in the 2020 NFL Draft. They hold three picks on Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft, 39th and 56th in the second and pick 70th in the third. If they were to target Anae, the Miami Dolphins should use either the 56th or 70th pick, as both would be a good value for a player such as Anae.
