2020 NFL Draft: 5 NFL teams who should target Utah EDGE Bradlee Anae
Arizona Cardinals
With Pro Bowler Chandler Jones coming off of a monster 19-sack season, one might think that that the Arizona Cardinals wouldn’t need to address pass rusher in the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately for the fans and the Arizona Cardinals themselves, Jones isn’t getting any younger, as the All-Pro is going into his ninth season at the age of 30.
Across from Jones, the situation at the edge position isn’t particularly great for the Arizona Cardinals. Cassius Marsh, who will be a free agent this year isn’t the most consistent pass rusher when healthy. Former first-round selection in Hassan Reddick has shifted inside to middle linebacker after not panning out on the edge.
Jones could use a running mate, and Anae can start day one in Vance Joseph‘s 3-4 defense. Playing alongside the All-Pro could be beneficial for Anae, as Jones would be a great mentor for the rookie pass-rusher. Both players have a relentless motor and could be an absolute terror for opposing offenses. But even if they address pass rush in free agency, Anae could still be a quality rotational piece for the Cardinals.
Currently, the Arizona Cardinals hold the 72nd pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, so they would have to hope that Anae would fall to them. They could potentially reach for him with the 40th pick in the second round, but that may a stretch for them. Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals hold three selections on day 3 of the 2020 NFL Draft and could be a candidate to double-dip at the position given their lack of quality depth.
